ESL Family Excursions

We are currently planning a great year of fun and educational trips for the 2012 - 2013 school year. We are very excited to share the news with you once it is available. Please check back again soon!

Guidelines:

The Saturday program is for all elementary, middle school, and high school English Language Learners and their families in the Half Hollow Hills School District. The program will improve English language skills through visits to local recreational facilities, parks, museums, historic buildings, communication centers, businesses, industries, nature and science centers, government and public institutions on Long Island. You will receive a separate permission slip for each trip. Field trips are free to each ESL student and their parents. Bus transportation will be provided for free from the Central Office building, located at 525 Half Hollow Road in Dix Hills. You must bring your own lunch and drink with you. Please check this website regularly for details on upcoming trips and be sure to check your mailboxes as well. Parents must attend with their child. Hope to see you on the trips!

Please understand that all family members who sign up for a trip MUST attend. The district is happy to pay for these trips through our funding source, but if you do not fulfill your commitment to attend, the money is lost. Therefore, please consider carefully before signing up for these trips and make a note on your calendar to remember the dates. Anyone who signs up for a trip and does not go, will not be allowed to go on future trips.
