A Message from the Principal
Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year at Chestnut Hill Elementary School, home of the Wizards! Chestnut Hill is a wonderfully dynamic school community comprised of a vibrant staff dedicated to developing a safe, nurturing and inviting learning climate in which all students can be successful.
Our committed staff is devoted to providing nearly 550 Pre-K through Grade 5 students with the highest quality of instruction based on proven practice and research. We use data to drive our instruction and work diligently to ensure that our students receive the education they will need to become strong contributing citizens of the Half Hollow Hills community.
Our quality instructional program provides our students with a New York State standards based curriculum aligned with district ambitions and initiatives. Our goal is to challenge each child intellectually, guide socially/emotionally and stimulate toward independent thinking and problem solving. We strive to develop a student body of good character in which students make good choices and decisions resulting in successful and healthy outcomes. We encourage students to demonstrate their best every moment of every day and to make positive contributions to their school community and community at large.
In our educational community at Chestnut Hill, it is important that we work together to develop our children into highly functional citizens of our community. With school and parents working collaboratively, together we can set high expectations and give our children the confidence they need to become leaders in the 21st century.
Sincerely,
Chad Snyder
